The Toray TMG20D-440 is a low-pressure reverse osmosis (RO) membrane element of the TMG(D) series for brackish water with enhanced chemical tolerance. The 8-inch element (size 8040) offers 41 m² of membrane area, 99.7% nominal salt rejection and a permeate flow of 50.3 m³/day. Country of origin: Japan (HS code 84219990).
The membrane of the TMG20D-440 is a cross-linked, fully aromatic polyamide composite, manufactured by Toray under ISO 9001 with precision automated production. The result is high permeate quality combined with robust membrane chemistry – for reliable performance and long membrane life. The 28 mil feed spacer reduces pressure drop and makes the element less sensitive to fouling.
Thanks to its enhanced chemical tolerance, the element handles a pH range of 2–11 in continuous operation and 1–13 during chemical cleaning – ideal for plants with regular CIP cleaning. Typical applications include municipal drinking water treatment, industrial process water and water reuse. Elements of this series manufactured in the US are certified to NSF/ANSI 61 for drinking water applications.
